Luke Burgess officially committed to Appalachian State this past saturday after entering the transfer portal portal on April 22nd.

Burgess was one of the recruits/commits of the #FlyVille 2023 class, and while Burgess was not one of the top tier recruits of that class, he did embrace Louisville as much as anybody on the team last year. Burgess was a 3-star recruit ranked as the 685th overall recruit in 2023, while being the 9th best player in Indiana and the 44th best offensive tackle according to 247sports.

Burgess visited Appalachian State on April 29th and committed less than a week later.

Burgess and Madden Sanker also created the social media account "L&N Eats" which was about the both of them going around to restaurants and dining around the Louisville area.

It is sad to see a player like Burgess go, as he is just a sophomore and has 4 years of eligibility left to play college football. Burgess appreciated Louisville and didn't leave the same way players like Tyler Baron or Penny Boone left. Burgess left with class, and there was no doubt about that when he posted this message on twitter moments after he decided to transfer out.
