The Louisville Cardinals will take on the Kentucky Wildcats today for the battle of bluegrass and nearly everything is on the line.

Louisville will come into the game at 5-6 after a 22-point win over Pepperdine. While Kentucky will come in ranked at #9 and an 8-2 record. Kentucky will come into the game as heavy favorites and Louisville will need to do nearly everything right to even have a shot at taking down the Wildcats.

Kenny Payne's job status is also something to keep an eye on. If Louisville takes a huge home loss to Kentucky it would not be out of the question that Louisville fires Payne before the new year. It would be oddly poetic if John Calipari put his former assistant Kenny Payne out of a job.

What Injuries Are Louisville Dealing With?

It is unknown whether JJ Traynor or Dennis Evans will suit up for the game or not. Kenny Payne said in his recent presser said that "they are both trying to get healthy, and we need them out there". It is looking unlikely that they will play but it is still possible for them to suit up.
