Louisville Women's volleyball takes on hated rival tonight
The Louisville Women's Volleyball team takes on Kentucky tonight at Memorial Coliseum. Louisville is on a five-match win streak, 7-1 overall, and ranked #4. Kentucky is 6-3 overall and ranked 11th. Louisville bested the Wildcats last year 3-0 in KFC YUM! Center. The match details are:

This is a marquee mid-week matchup for both teams on ESPN. It's non-football night and should be a high-exposure situation for both teams and an excellent recruiting tool. Louisville is 2-1 versus ranked opponents this season. They are led by seniors Charitie Luper, Elena Scott, and Sofia Maldonado Diaz. Kentucky is coming off a loss to #7 Purdue. The Wildcats have only one homecourt loss this year.
Louisville has already beaten the Wildcats in men's soccer after a dramatic last-second goal gave the vicotry to the Cardinals. They are hoping for less drama on the court tonight. They would rather have a smoother path to victory than having to wait until the last second.
Being one of the best volleyball teams in the country means that they will have a target on their back all year long. The Cardinals will be getting the best shot of every team they face. They won't have any issues getting up for this one though. A matchup with Kentucky is always big.
