The Louisville football program is off to a fast start this season, starting 2-0. Both wins were huge victories over inferior opponents. Still, those two big wins were huge for the confidence of this team. It also puts them in a better position for the College Football Playoff.

A byproduct of playing well on the field is getting some recruits to take notice. Louisville's recruiting class isn't super strong for the 2025 class. They are trying to improve that as the 2024 season gets underway. They have also started focusing a bit on the 2026 class.

The Cardinals just received their first commitment in the 2026 class. They are looking at some other guys, including a high-level receiver. In fact, there is one five-star receiver that the Louisville Cardinals have been going after pretty hard early in the cycle.

The Louisville football team is going hard after a five-star wide receiver

Five-star receiver Devin Carter has been getting a lot of attention from the Cardinals. Carter stands at 6 feet and 165 pounds and is someone who can outrun a lot of guys. He's one of those track athletes that can get down the field in a hurry. That's an extremely valuable skill.

Carter is out of the state of Georgia, so he has a lot of other programs recruiting him hard as well. Texas, Auburn, Florida State, and Florida are some of the other schools he's heard quite a bit from. Carter was also in attendance for the Alabama/USF game last weekend.

Adding a five-star talent like Carter would be huge for the Louisville football team. It would give them someone that they can build around heading into the future. Of course, the class of 2026 is still two years away from getting on campus. A lot of things can change in two years.
