Three bold predictions for Louisville football vs. Georgia Tech
By Ryan Stano
2. Louisville will allow under 200 passing yards
Louisville's defense is very strong and was expected to be heading into this season. So far, they've not disappointed. They have done a really good job of keeping quarterbacks from hurting him. They only allowed 53 yards passing in the opener and just 160 yards against Jacksonville State.
Obviously, the competition steps up a bit with Georgia Tech. Haynes King is quite a bit better than either of the quarterbacks the Cardinals have seen so far this year. He already has racked up 962 yards in the four games he's played, good enough for just over 240 yards per game.
Still, Louisville's defense should be ready. I think they hold the Yellow Jackets to under 200 yards through the air. Ashton Gillotte could be a big factor in this game. He only has one sack so far this season, but I could see him getting multiple sacks this weekend.
Because Louisville will be controlling the clock with their run game, the Yellow Jackets will have to throw the ball to catch up. That will give Gillotte a chance to get some sacks. The time of possession advantage will also keep attempts lower for King, which means fewer yards for him.
The final bold prediction for the game has to do with the final score of the game.
