Louisville football fans saw two Cardinals from the 2025 roster get invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. The Cardinals' star wide receivers, Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, will represent Louisville at the combine in a couple of weeks at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Last year, Louisville saw double the number of players invited to the Combine, with wide receiver Ja'Corey Brooks, cornerback Quincy Riley, quarterback Tyler Shough, and defensive end Ashton Gillotte all invited. The Cardinals are expected to be one of the top ACC programs next season, as CBS Sports went so far as to predict Louisville will go undefeated in conference play.
So, with Louisville ranked as high as No. 14 in some way-too-early top-25 rankings, and the NFL Combine recently inviting 319 players, we wanted to predict who would be invited next season, as the Cardinals have one of the most talented rosters under head coach Jeff Brohm.
Predicting 3 Louisville football players who will be invited to the 2027 NFL Combine
Clev Lubin
One of the Cardinals' biggest players to return for the 2026 season is their star edge rusher, Clev Lubin. The Coastal Carolina transfer had a breakout first season with Louisville, where he led the team with an impressive 8.5 sacks while also earning 61 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and five pass breakups.
Before his time with Louisville, he logged 44 total tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks for Coastal Carolina. His dominant 2024 season earned him First-Team All-Sun Belt honors, and he is now one of the best edge rushers in the ACC. Lubin has high expectations entering the 2026 season and is definitely trending to hear his name called at the 2027 NFL Draft.

Tre Richardson
The Cardinals added 30 players via the Transfer Portal this offseason, but their biggest addition is Tre Richardson. The speedy wide receiver is coming to Louisville after leading the Commodores with 806 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns. He ranked No. 66 overall and No. 15 among wide receivers in the Transfer Portal and is expected to be the Cardinals' biggest threat on the outside.
Louisville’s offense is expected to be highly explosive with Richardson on the outside, and if all goes according to plan, the Vandy transfer should be around 1,000 receiving yards and be a top wide receiver in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Isaac Brown
And finally, the lone junior on the list who will likely declare for the NFL Draft and will be at the Combine next year is the Cardinals star running back, Isaac Brown. The former preseason All-American broke Louisville’s true freshman rushing yard record with an impressive 1,173 rushing yards while logging 7.1 yards per carry. He had five games with 100 yards or more in his dominant freshman season and carried that over to last year, when he was limited by injury.
Brown rushed for 884 yards on 8.8 yards per carry, including a dominant 205 rushing yard game against Boston College, where he averaged 14.6 yards per carry. He is a unanimous top-five running back entering 2026, and if he has another breakout season as he did in 2024, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound running back is a lock for the NFL Draft Combine next season.
