Louisville basketball is officially in offseason mode, which means the Cardinals are about to be all-in on the Transfer Portal for the third straight year. In Pat Kelsey’s first year with Louisville, the Cardinals added 14 players from the portal, and last year, even though he brought in only three, they had the third-best portal class in the country.

Louisville will look to do a similar thing this offseason, dominate the portal yet again, and have Final Four dreams in the 2026-27 season. Kelsey will have a lot of work to do, as he will lose four of his five starters and a couple of bench pieces as of right now, but he will also have to try to recruit from within and avoid any disaster scenario where his players enter the Transfer Portal.
Last year, Kelsey did a fantastic job at avoiding a nightmare situation and losing key pieces, and now, with the portal opening up on April 7, he will try to repeat that.
