Vangelis Zougris - Stay

It certainly feels like Louisville might be rebuilding from scratch, but Vangelis Zougris is one of the few players we are predicting to return. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound center came over to Louisville from Greece, and while he isn’t known for scoring, he brought physicality, which Louisville desperately needed in the postseason.

Before his time with Louisville, he played at the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket, where he averaged 11.6 points and 8.3 rebounds, and played at the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship, where he averaged 14.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Zougris return as Kelsey showed a lot of trust in him, moving Zougris to the starting lineup.

After Kelsey made that move, Louisville got a boost of physicality and a spark from Zougris, which Kelsey and Louisville needed. So, with Louisville needing his physicality, the Cardinals hope to bring him back as a bench piece.
