Point Guard: Jackson Shelstad
The Cardinals' landing of Jackson Shelstad will immediately put him as Kelsey’s starting point guard. The Oregon transfer is a former 5-star recruit who ranked No. 6 among point guards and No. 24 overall in the 2023 recruiting class.
The former 5-star recruit made the All-Pac-12 Freshman team in his first season with Oregon, the All-Big Ten Third Team in his second season, and this past year, he was trending toward a career season but only played 12 games because of a hand injury. Shelstad scored 20 points or more in five games and averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game, and splashed 33 3’s in just 12 games.
Louisville fans are stoked that Shelstad is a Cardinal, and they are excited to have another 5-star playing the point guard position. Shelstad commits to Louisville, ranked No. 16 overall in the portal and No. 5 among point guards.
