Louisville basketball will do whatever it takes to land the best recruits in the transfer portal.
The Cardinals are in the mix for many recruits, as the transfer portal opened yesterday morning. The portal will be open for 30 days, from March 24 through April 22. As of this morning, the Cardinals have yet to lose any players to the portal but have reached out to multiple.
Some key players Louisville has reached out to include Josh Dix, Brock Harding, and Brit Harris. Louisville is addressing its lack of shooters and depth and will look to recruit at an elite level for the next 30 days. Pat Kelsey is known to be one of the best recruiters and developers in the nation, and the Cardinals fans have all their trust in PK.
Louisville basketball fans have their eyes on a massive target as the Cardinals fans starve for their first NCAA Tournament win in eight years. Louisville's perfect target is right in front of their eyes, and fans found good news Monday morning that Kelsey has already reached out to this 6-foot-10, 238-pound stretch forward.
Louisville basketball reached out to elite forward
Last week, Nevada's star forward was reported to have entered the transfer portal and is looking for a new program. Nick Davidson is ranked as the No. 8 best player in this year's transfer portal, the No. 2 ranked center, and the No. 3 ranked forward.
The Nevada transfer averaged 11.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor in his three seasons with the Wolf Pack. However, this past season, Davidson stepped up his game and improved every stat line as he averaged a career-high 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 0.8 steals while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 37.1 percent from downtown.
Joe Tipton reported last week that the Cardinals are one of many programs reaching out to Davidson. Nevada's transfer forward has heard from over 20 schools, and the Cardinals seem to be right in the mix.

Davidson is the perfect target for Kelsey for many reasons, but his ability to stretch the floor out and shoot the ball at an exceptional rate is a glaring strength. The Cardinals need a forward who can space the floor and knock down jumpers.
Khani Rooths and James Scott showed how valuable they are to this team, but neither is a great jump shooter. If the Cardinals can land Davidson, then that would move Scott to the center, Davidson to the power forward, and J'Vonne Hadley to small forward, which would be a frontcourt that would scare many.
Louisville has shown they are trying to find shooters this offseason, and they have reached out to many elite shooters already. Davidson is one of them. The Cardinals will have to replace their top three scorers from last season, which has caused them to plan to spend up to $10 million this offseason.
The star forward scored an impressive eight games last season with 20 points or more. He scored 26 points in two games, which would be his season-high. Also worth noting is when he secured back-to-back 25-point performances against Air Force and Fresno State.
Davidson is one player Kelsey must keep an eye on and heavily recruit. The star forward from Nevada would be a crucial addition to this program and would fit perfectly
For all the latest on Louisville basketball's offseason, stay tuned.
