Louisville football recently made a massive steal in college football recruiting as the Cardinals lured Vince Marrow away from the Kentucky Wildcats and their head coach, Mark Stoops. Marrow was able to have a top-40 recruiting class in all 12 years of his tenure with the Wildcats, including his 2022 recruiting class, which ranked No. 14 in the nation.

Marrow was able to land 66 4-stars during his time with Kentucky and emerged as one of the best recruiters in the nation. Before Marrow joined Kentucky, the Wildcats didn't have much to talk about, and now that he has joined Jeff Brohm's Cardinals, Louisville is rising while Kentucky plummets.

Kentucky was able to land one 4-star recruit in the 2026 cycle, and the Cardinals have their eyes set on him. Louisville football fans are beginning to try to recruit the Wildcats' big-time commit, Jarvis Strickland, to the Cardinals, which would make Louisville earn all top-five commitments from Kentucky.

Vince Marrow’s arrival sparks Louisville push to flip elite 4-star from Kentucky

The Cardinals have currently landed four of the top five commitments from Kentucky in the 2026 cycle, and the lone player they didn't earn a commitment from is Strickland. However, after Louisville was able to steal Marrow from Kentucky, it appears the Cardinals could pull off the ultimate swipe and try to flip the elite 4-star offensive tackle.

It is common for recruits to switch schools when a coach or recruiter leaves a program. With Marrow being a significant factor in Strickland's commitment to Kentucky, it is clear that there is a legitimate chance he will follow Marrow to the Cardinals.

Strickland is the missing puzzle piece for Louisville to dominate the state of Kentucky. He is ranked as high as the No. 1 player from Kentucky and No. 206 nationally in the 2026 class. The 6-foot-6 offensive tackle committed to Kentucky back in late March, and with Marrow's news breaking earlier this week, Louisville fans are instantly trying to recruit him over to the Cardinals.

The Cardinals made their offer to the 4-star tackle back in June 2023. Louisville's 2026 cycle is ranked in both On3 Sports and 247Sports top 25, making the Cardinals appear as a much better option for Strickland than Kentucky.
