5. D’Angelo Hutchinson, DB

Alongside fellow senior Jabari Mack, D’Angelo Hutchinson was a consistent performer for the Louisville secondary and a key reason for their success. Hutchinson posted a massive season in the secondary, with 79 tackles (35 solo) and one interception as well. He was a lockdown member of the secondary and helped answer many of the preseason questions that surrounded the position group. The secondary, time and time again, provided key protection against opposing pass games, helping lead to Louisville victories.

Hutchinson had a strong end to the season, posting back-to-back 10-tackle games against the SMU Mustangs and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was a significant reason Louisville was able to walk away from the last game of the season with a 41-0 win. The Louisville coaching staff will have its hands full trying to replenish the production that this year’s secondary was able to provide.
