Bilal Powell. 3. player. 30. You should target Powell in the late rounds of your drafts. Running Back. New York Jets

When given the opportunity, Powell has been one of the more consistent players in the NFL for the New York Jets. While a member of the Jets, Powell has always been more of a third down back. However, he has made sure that he is one of the best third down backs in the NFL.

Powell has more value in PPR (Points per reception) leagues because of his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. He can really be a pain for opposing defenses to tackle in open space.

The Jets added former Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte in free agency this past offseason. Forte also does a great job in the passing game, which could be a good thing for Bilal Powell. At 30 years old, Forte does have to be careful about taking care of his body. If Forte goes down during the year, then Powell is the guy for the Jets.

Powell hasn’t been a guy who finds the end-zone much for New York, but he can rack up a plethora of yards after the catch. Defenses will be paying a lot of attention to receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, thus giving the Jets running backs opportunities to make plays if they can get into the secondary of the defense.

Try and be patient drafting Bilal Powell. Make sure to wait until the late rounds of your fantasy draft. He is not a guy that you want to start every week, but he is definitely a plug-and-play kind of player. Meaning, if you have a flex player on a bye week, he could be the guy to help you fill a void.
