Louisville Football: Former Cards in the pros on the move this offseason
By Jacob Lane
Preston Brown – LB
Offseason move: Signed with Cincinnati Bengals
2016-17 statistics: 144 tackles, 3 pass deflections
For the fourth time in his career former Buffalo Bill linebacker Preston Brown finished the season with over 100 combined tackles. But for the first time, he finished as the leading tackler in the NFL.
Brown has been a huge part of the Bills defense since joining the team back in 2014, becoming one of the leaders of that unit, and also helping them reach the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

But after four seasons with the Bills, Brown was able to land a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, returning back to his hometown.
The Bengals have struggled with consistency at the middle linebacker position over the last several years between players like Vontaze Burfict, Vincent Rey, and Ray Maulauga.
Head coach Marvin Lewis, returning for his 17th season, is hoping that Brown can provide the consistency and solid play that they’ve been missing the last couple of years.
In a division with running back Le’Veon Bell, having an unstoppable tackler like Preston Brown, who is known for blowing up the running game of opposing offenses, could take the Bengals to a new level.
