Tuasivi Nomura – OLB/S

3-star

6’1, 200

Corona, CA

At first glance looking at Tuasivi Nomura it’s easy to see a resemblance to former USC safety and future NFL hall of famer, Troy Palamalu. It’s more of the hair than the play, as Nomura is a very good prospect but not on on the level of the former USC star.

Nomura was a guy who was on the radar of Cort Dennison while at Oregon, and a player that the Cards had a lot of interest of bringing to the Ville. He visited campus a few weeks back, which says a lot seeing as how he’s from the west coast – not a region known for having ties to Louisville.

His visit went very well according to multiple recruiting sites and it made Louisville a legitimate contender to get a commitment. However, he’s currently being forecasted to USC, who is said to be in his final two, along with Louisville.

Louisville would be getting one hell of a linebacker/safety hybrid, who would undoubtedly have the potential to come in and play right away for Bryan Brown & Cort Dennison. This kid has everything you look for in a safety/linebacker – speed, tackling in space, pursuit, and the ability to cover running backs and tight ends as needed. Nomura would be a welcomed addition to the class of 2019, and would provide a lot of solid attributes to a defense that was flat out horrible in 2018.

Other schools being considered: USC

Prediction: USC
