T.J. McCoy – OC

TJ McCoy is a journeyman graduate transfer offensive lineman who started his career with NC State, ended up at Florida, and who showed signs of being a dominant lineman when healthy for the Gators.

McCoy was a mainstay at center for Florida during his redshirt Freshman year and into the 9th game of his sophomore year.

McCoy is an absolutely massive pick-up for a Louisville offensive line that has talent, but has lacked discipline. The Cards bring back future NFL draft caliber players in Mekhi Becton, Caleb Chandler, and Cole Bentley among others, but they never were able to work as a unit last season under Bobby Petrino and Mike Summers.

New offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford hopes to set the tone right away with his “Band of Brothers” mantra, but it will take on-field leadership for the Cards to be instantly impacted. That’s what McCoy, who has started in 12 college games, brings to the table. He will be able to anchor the middle for a unit who, if they learn to work cohesively, can go from worst in the ACC to one of the best.

Look for McCoy, even in just one year, to be a tone-setter for the offensive line, and the offense as a whole.
