Scenario #4 – VJ King, Jordan Nwora, and Steven Enoch all return

Personally I believe this is the least likely scenario to take place. While nothing is impossible or should be ruled out of the equation, the fact that Mack landed a graduate transfer point guard and no other announcement about a current player for Louisville leaving leads me to believe one of these three players won’t return.

However, if it does happen the rest of the country should be on the lookout for Louisville as a contender for a National Championship run. If you think I’m crazy, take a look at Gary Parrish of CBS Sports Way Too Early Top 25 for 2019.

Returning two of your top five scorers and an experienced, battle-tested senior could mean get the Cards over the hump and back to Atlanta in 2020, especially considering the talent the Cards have coming in between their number eight ranked recruiting class and grad transfer Fresh Kimble.

It’s also worth noting that if these three players all return there will be at least one player on the current roster who doesn’t, as the Cards would be one scholarship over the NCAA allotted 13.

Teams like Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech, could take a step back in the ACC in 2019 because of roster turnover (although we know Duke and UNC tend to reload rather than rebuild) which could allow Louisville to land a top four seed in the ACC next season.

As Ethan Sprowles wrote this week, the hype for Louisville basketball in 2019-20 is very real, especially if Nwora, Enoch, and King all return.
