Louisville football recruiting providing new hope in the future to Cardnation
June 11th
A local product, defensive end and offensive lineman Austin Collins, gets the party started by committing to the Cards.
Austin Collins had an impressive junior season for the Kentucky State Champion, Christian Academy of Louisville when he recorded 73 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
However, where he truly impressed the Louisville staff was on the offensive side of the ball. He projects to play at the guard position when he gets on campus and he’ll give the Cards a nice developmental piece for the future.

Offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford loves guys who play sound, aggressive football – and that’s exactly what you’ll see from Collins when you throw on his tape from last season. Collins is a local kid, though he will play his senior season in Ohio, and it sends a positive message that the new staff can win a battle in their own back yard after years of ineptitude by the previous staff.
This would be the first of the Cards local recruits.
