We continue our roundtable preview of the 2019 Louisville football season, taking a look at how the Cards could exceed expectations this year.

Football is back baby. If Florida and Miami weren’t enough for you on Saturday, hopefully, you will find solace knowing there’s football Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and of course the main course meal on Monday with Louisville football going head-to-head with Notre Dame on Labor Day in Primetime.

Fall camp is over and now Scott Satterfield and the Louisville football program will move into their first game week together preparing for one of the top teams in college football.

As we previewed last week during our annual Big Red Louie roundtable preview series, the offseason has been one of the more interesting in recent memory. Anytime you bring in a new coach there are going to be changes, deflections on the roster, and ups and downs preparing to be a new team.

That’s exactly what we’ve seen with this team over the last few months as the players have had to put one of the roughest seasons in Louisville history behind them and buy into a new coach, a new philosophy, a new way of doing things, and of course a new scheme.

Things have been different. So different that junior linebacker Dorian Etheridge said it was almost like “transferring to a new school.” But that’s the good part of the offseason.

The players have been learning how to play for Satterfield and his staff all while seeing daily what it’s like to be a family. Whether it’s been on or off the field, the new look Cardinal program has taken one step forward every single day preparing for this.

With the daunting matchup with Notre Dame just seven days away, our crew of writers answered five more questions about Louisville football’s season ahead.
