This team fights and effort is never lacking.

Last year, the biggest issue with the Louisville football program was the effort. They lost games by 30 or more when it should’ve been closer to 14. The penalties and personal fouls piled up, the body language was always off. The 2019 Louisville team is undoubtedly different and they proved that Saturday.

Regardless of how good this Florida State team may end up being, winning at Doak Campbell Stadium is no easy task. Especially against a hungry Seminole team who needed that win just as bad as the Cardinals. Florida State came out with a plan to stack the box and take away Louisville’s rushing attack. Which worked, they held Javian Hawkins to a season-low 52 yards rushing.

The Florida State offense also clicked better than it had all season once Hornibrook took over, they earned this win. But it could’ve been a walk in the park with the way it started, the Cardinals weren’t gonna let that happen.

Scoring 24 unanswered after the way that game started seemed beyond impossible. But they found a way to adjust on the fly and to completely turn this football game around. It’s a lot easier to improve week to week vs. quarter to quarter in college football.

Scott Satterfield should be commended for the adjustments he made in a very tough situation to have the Cardinals right there. Despite how tough of a loss this ended up being, there’s a lot to feel good about for Cardinal fans.
