Don’t look ahead, it’s not great

Louisville needed to win this football game if they had real bowl aspirations. Even though there are eight games left, you’d be hard-pressed to find four winnable games left on this schedule. This was one that the Cardinals really needed. Here’s where the rest of the Cardinals opponents are currently ranked:

There is still a ton to be positive about with this performance, but in terms of this 2019 season, that may have been a deal-breaker on postseason play. The schedule was always going to be tough and that game was one before the season that you knew they had to win to get to six wins.

The Cardinals need to take everything one game at a time, as their most winnable game comes at home after this week’s bye week. Boston College is beyond a must-win for this Louisville team and is going to be far from easy. Boston College defeated Louisville at their place 38-20 last season.
