Louisville football: 3 things to watch for Cards vs. Syracuse
Can Syracuse get Louisville to turn the ball over?
Despite being ranked as the 104th defense in college football. Syracuse has been highly successful in the turnover category. Syracuse is 20th in the country in turnovers forced, with ten fumble recoveries and nine interceptions on the season. Louisville has given the ball away 15 times this season, which is in the bottom half of the NCAA.
When you’re playing a home game against a team that is seemingly worse than you, turnovers can change everything. Syracuse forced three turnovers at Duke last week and went on to hold the Blue Devils to just six points.
Syracuse had plenty of success against the Cardinals in this category last year, forcing the Cards into two interceptions and two fumbles lost. Louisville has been a lot better here as of late. In two of their last three games, they finished with zero total turnovers.
If Louisville can avoid one or two big plays that swing the game as turnovers tend to do, they should be able to take care of the Orange on Saturday.
