Week 4: at Georgia Tech

Date: 10/9 (Coming off of a bye)

Louisville football suffered five losses of 20-points or more during the forgettable 2018 season. In 2019 the Cards were able to get payback on three of those five teams, leaving just two on the list in Clemson and Georgia Tech.

The Cards won’t play the former in 2020, but will get the latter and should be one of the more intriguing games on the schedule. The Yellow Jackets will also enter the second year of a new era  with Geoff Collins leading the way as head coach, but they’ll have a lot of work to do if they’re going to achieve anywhere near the level of Louisville.

Following a 3-9 season in 2019, Georgia Tech should be in store for a big leap in the ACC standings but it’ll probably come via trial and error as Collins works in two high-powered recruiting classes with a core of returning players that played in a completely different system.

This will be the first conference game of the year where a blow out could be possible. Tech has athletes and a lot of players with potential, but they are nowhere near a complete team on either side of the ball.

Louisville’s offense should be able to put points up while the defense shouldn’t have any challenges stopping a passing attack that finished 124th in the country and a rushing offense that was 72nd.

There won’t be many games on the schedule where Louisville can get young guys reps, but this could be one of them if Scott Satterfield plays his cards right early.

Score: Louisville 47, Georgia Tech 28

Record: 4-0 (3-0)
