Jack Harlow has been recognized as a huge supporter of women’s basketball. With his latest involvement at Louisville Live, he could have an impact on Jeff Walz’s 2023 Recruiting Class.

On May 27, 2022, artist Jack Harlow, a Louisville native, was on-stage at Forecastle wearing a Hailey Van Lith jersey.

HVL is a prominent player for the Louisville Cardinals Women’s basketball team and someone whom Head Coach Jeff Walz places a lot of trust in. The junior guard puts a face to the program and her abilities on the court make her a marketable player. Marketable in such a way that well-known hip-hop arist Jack Harlow showed his support of her and Coach Walz’s program.

Women’s basketball has been severely overlooked for many years. The gross differential between what NBA players make and what WNBA players make is preposterous. The average salary of an NBA player for the 2020-2021 season was 7.9 million dollars. And the average salary of a WNBA player for the 2020-2021 season was $120,648.

Women are talented at basketball and the compensation will rise with the popularity of the sport. Jack Harlow embraces equality in the sport and has been faithful to do so through representing Hailey Van Lith and capturing a photo with two Louisville recruits.

One of the two recruits pictured is five-star wing Chloe Kitts. Kitts stands at a staggering 6-foot-3 and is ranked as the number 4 prospect, according to Prospects Nation. Last year, she averaged almost 19 points a game and snagging 8 boards per game. There is no doubt that she will continue to dominate this year for DME Academy.

Chloe would be a huge signing for Coach Walz and Jack Harlow’s advocacy for women’s hoops along with his willingness to snap a picture with her speaks volumes to both her and the Louisville community. Landing Kitts would continue the legacy of Coach Walz and his ability to land high-profile athletes, joining the likes of five-star recruit HVL.
