According to the National Letter of Intent‘s website, the early signing period for Division I football begins on December 21, 2022. That is only a little over a month away and it is rapidly approaching. Louisville’s recruiting class currently sits in the Top 20 Nationally Recognized Recruiting Classes proudly at 17 overall.

Headlining the incoming class are five-star running back recruit Rueben Owens (El Campo), four-star quarterback Pierce Clarkson (St. John Bosco), four-star wide receiver DeAndre Moore (St. John Bosco), and four-star linebacker Stanquan Clark (Miami Central).

Here are a few potential prospects for the Louisville program to add to this recruiting class:

  • Rueben Bain: Bain is the current teammate of Stanquan Clark and has visited Louisville multiple times this season. He is a four-star defensive lineman and would greatly aid in filling the holes left by Yaya Diaby and Yasir Abdullah as they graduate from the program. Recently, the Miami, Florida product posted this to his Instagram story. According to Cardinal Authority, he is warm towards coming to The Ville.
  • Cole Martin: Martin is a long-shot to come to the program. But quarterback recruit Pierce Clarkson has been recruiting him hard over social media. The four-star cornerback’s father currently coaches at the University of Oregon, the university that he has verbally committed to join. Familial ties are difficult to break but Clarkson hasn’t given up hope quite yet and there is still time for him to flip his commitment.
  • Everett Roussaw: Roussaw is a three-star linebacker prospect who has Louisville high on his list. The Ellenwood, Georgia product looks to be deciding between Louisville and Arkansas. Just like Bain, he would fill a huge hole in the defense left by Yasir Abdullah and Momo Sanogo.
  • Leviticus Su’a: Su’a is a four-star linebacker prospect who is warm to the Louisville football program. He currently plays for the high school powerhouse Mater Dei located in Santa Ana, California. Recently, Greg Biggins, of 247 Sports, noted that Louisville should be anticipating a visit from Su’a in the near future.
  • Chance Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald is a three-star wide receiver prospect from Nolensville, Tennessee. He recently announced his final twelve schools and Louisville made an appearance on the list. The Nolensville High School product would be a great addition to a wide receiving class that includes the aforementioned DeAndre Moore and Rueben Bain’s teammate Cataurus Hicks.

As the clock continues to count down until Signing Day, the remaining uncommitted high school athletes have a life-altering decision to make as they decide where to spend their time during their collegiate careers. Louisville already has an impressive incoming class but adding any of the names mentioned above would be monumental for the program. Let the chaos begin.
