Jeff Brohm’s impact on the Louisville Cardinals roster in the short time he’s been here has been breath-taking to witness. He has established a fire back in the fanbase in a multitude of ways, including season ticket holders calling in to upgrade their seats because of their excitement to watch Louisville football under Coach Brohm.

When Scott Satterfield left Louisville to accept the Head Football Coach position at the University of Cincinnati, the fanbase was in between two emotions. On one hand, they were excited because the brand of football that Satterfield puts on the field week in and week out is not an exciting one, and it seems he has always been looking for a way out of Louisville almost as soon as he arrived here in 2019.

On the other hand, the fanbase was on pins and needles due to the recruiting class that was put together by the now-former staff. Worry began to set in because this recruiting class was one of the best Louisville has put together in years.

But, that worry was soon dispelled when Jeff Brohm took over the helm because one of his first courses of action was to make home visits to some of the recruits and encourage them to stay committed to the Cardinals. He had resounding success in that department considering how close it was to signing day.

Not only has he had success in the recruiting market, but he has taken the transfer portal market by storm and has created an avenue for in-state recruits to play for their hometown team.

Through the transfer portal, he was able to land Stephen Herron Jr. and Marquis Groves-Killebrew, who both claim Louisville as their homes. Through the recruiting market, he was able to flip in-state recruits Micah Carter and Saadiq Clements from Purdue.

Now, he has added a veteran quarterback through the transfer portal in California’s Jack Plummer. Plummer orignially committed to Purdue as a member of the Class of 2018. So he has familiarity with Brohm’s system and can help bridge the gap between Malik Cunningham and Pierce Clarkson.

Standing at an impressive 6-foot-5, Plummer can see over the defense and has the ability to throw the deep ball while remaining accurate.
