Class of 2026 offensive lineman Bear McWhorter received some high praise this past week at a showcase for offensive and defensive linemen that was held at Velocity Football Academy in Holly Springs, Georgia. It was an event organized by Josh Richardson, who has experience training athletes in order to prepare them for the NFL. While he was there, a writer for On3, Jeremy Johnson, told McWhorter’s high school Head Coach, Sumo Robinson, that he reminded him of recent FlyVille23 signee Madden Sanker.

McWhorter, who is 6-foot-4 300-pounds, was recruited by the University of Louisville under the old Scott Satterfield regime, but has yet to be announced as a prospect with a re-offered scholarship from the new regime under Head Coach Jeff Brohm.

Under the old regime, Louisville also received a visit from Bear’s cousin Brodie McWhorter, who was in town for the matchup against NC State. Brodie has yet to receive a scholarship, but he is one of the top young quarterback prospects in the state of Georgia, so he is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Bear McWhorter being compared to Madden Sanker is interesting because McWhorter had already been linked to Louisville before in his recruitment. And with Madden Sanker being the highest rated offensive lineman in Louisville’s history, it could create an interesting relationship with Georgia offensive linemen and the University of Louisville.

Georgia could be the third state to join the pipeline of athletes that come to Louisville. The other two obviously being Florida and California. Jeff Brohm has already proven that he is capable of recruiting hard locally and if he can continue the success in recruiting Florida, Georgia, and California, then the future looks really bright for Louisville football.
