Charles Pride – Guard – 6’4 – Bryant University

Charles Pride was a name of interest when I began writing these articles nearly two months ago. But, after initially reaching out and showing interest, it’s been clear for a while that there was no mutual interest between the Louisville staff and the Bryant University transfer.

Pride played more than 100 games for Bryant and finished last year with an impressive 14.6 PPG, 6.1 RPG & 2.4 APG, all while shooting 45% from the field and 37% from the three-point line (with more than 5 three-pointers attempted per game).

I think he would have brought some much-needed three-point shooting and veteran experience to the squad, but I don’t think he would’ve been anything more than a depth piece. I’ve been disappointed with the staff missing out on a few players, but this is not one of them.

I hate that I had to write this piece earlier than usual because I’m sure there’s tons of news I’ll miss that drops on Thursday and Friday, but that just means I should have an extra informative Volume 8.

Stay tuned for next Friday’s article. I’m betting we’ll have at least one new commitment by then.
