Louisville basketball fans are beginning to get more concerned about its star guard, Adrian Wooley, and his possible entry into the Transfer Portal. Yesterday, the former 5-star transfer posted on his Instagram story, showing him walking without Louisville gear, and all that was said was “soon,” followed by three dots.

Louisville's Adrian Wooley sparks Transfer Portal buzz with latest social media post

Earlier this season, in February, Wooley’s name began to surface with an SEC team interested in Louisville’s combo guard, and now, with the season over, more powerhouse programs are interested. Wooley has the potential to be an elite guard for Louisville, as he transferred to the Cardinals ranked No. 9 in the portal last offseason and was a 5-star transfer.

However, after a down season with Louisville, where he mainly came off the bench and played just 22 minutes per game and averaged 8.7 points on 45 percent shooting and 35 percent from downtown, many think that his social media post was a hint that he could be entering the Transfer Portal “soon.”

So, if he were to enter the portal, here are the top three destinations for the Cardinals guard.

Auburn Tigers

A team that went after Wooley last offseason and will likely go after him again if he enters the Transfer Portal is the Auburn Tigers. After making it to the Final Four a couple of seasons ago, the Tigers had an underwhelming year without Bruce Pearl, and a player like Wooley would be a big boost for Auburn.

Auburn went 20-16 and was on the bubble for the majority of the year, and with the Tigers trying to get to Final Four contenders again, if Wooley were to enter the portal, they would likely target the former 5-star transfer. Wooley is an Alabama native, and it would make sense for him to consider the Tigers again, as last year he committed to Louisville over Auburn, Alabama, and Kansas.

Arkansas

The team that started gaining interest in Wooley in February was the Arkansas Razorbacks. John Calipari is one of the best recruiters and coaches in college basketball, and with Arkansas in need of a guard, Wooley appears to be at the top of their list if he enters the portal.

Calipari saw Wooley’s potential this season when Louisville played Arkansas on the Razorbacks home floor in early December. While Wooley finished with only five points, he shot 66 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc, adding five rebounds and two assists. Calipari is known to land some big-time guards throughout his college coaching career, and with Darius Acuff Jr. leaving for the draft, Wooley could step up and be Coach Cal’s next elite guard.

Alabama

Growing up in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nate Oats and the Tide are once again a potential landing spot if Wooley were to break Louisville’s hearts and enter the Transfer Portal. A year ago, Wooley was ranked as high as No. 9 in the Transfer Portal and was considered one of the top combo guards, and with Bama also loving to live and die from beyond the arc, and favoring its guards, it would be another great fit for Wooley.

There is already some buzz going around with Wooley and Alabama after the Crimson Tide's season came to an end. Wooley would be one of the top players in the portal for the second straight season, and with Alabama already having a history of recruiting him, they would be one of the top contenders for the former 5-star transfer.
