2. Miami solidifies themselves as the ACC frontrunner

Miami was one of the teams that had the most question marks entering the 2025 season. They lost a lot of production, had a new quarterback in Carson Beck, and had uncertainties about their ability to play up to prominent opponents. In 3 weeks, Miami has been able to answer most of those questions and put itself on the path to being the lead contender for the ACC title game.

The team as a whole has looked solid in their three outings as the Hurricanes start the year 3-0, 2 of the wins being against top 25 opponents. Carson Beck has looked the part and is living up to the hype bestowed upon him at Georgia one year later than expected. He is playing with confidence and has the proper leadership to be the key focal point of the Miami offense. As also noted, the Hurricanes have shown up in key spots, winning their Week 1 contest against the visiting #6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish as well as the most recent 49-12 thrashing of the hot #18 South Florida Bulls in Week 3.

Miami has stood out as the conference leader and the team to beat for the rest of the ACC contenders. Louisville visits Miami in October for a vital conference showdown that is setting up to have significant conference title game implications. We all knew this game would be challenging to overcome, but with how the Hurricanes look currently, we may still have underestimated the opponent as Cards fans.
