Louisville football had an explosive offense last season, led by future NFL quarterback Tyler Shough. The Cardinals' offense was top five in passing and rushing in the ACC, and averaged an impressive 36 points per game in the 2024 season. Louisville finished the season 5th in the ACC with a conference record of 5-3 and an overall record of 9-4.

The Cardinals had a rough stretch, to say the least, as they fell to Miami by just seven points, and then collapsed and lost to Stanford by three. They lost three one-score games to three top 13 opponents. The Cardinals' signature win was a victory against No.16 Clemson in Death Valley. The moral of the story is that things are looking up next season for Louisville football.

3 biggest offensive gets for Louisville football in the transfer portal

Louisville football spring practice started this week, and the Cardinals have some new faces in the program on this lethal offense. Cardinals lost some heavy hitters to the NFL Draft, like Tyler Shough, and Ja'Corey Brooks, so Jeff Brohm and company had to go to the drawing boards, and find some new recruits.

Here are three incoming transfers that will have an impact on the Cardinals in the 2025 season.

Bobby Golden - Wide Receiver

Bobby Golden is a 5'8" wide receiver transfer from Akron. In three seasons at Akron, Golden hauled in 49 catches, 595 receiving yards, and one touchdown. The great news is that he is showing improvement, with the majority of his career stats coming in just his last season at Akron. In his last season alone, Golden recorded 31 catches, 446 yards, and one touchdown. Although he is not just a receiver, Golden was the top kick returner at Akron. In 17 kickoffs, Golden finished with 316 return yards. Look for Louisville to use Golden as a gadget-type receiver, as he even took some carries at Akron as well. Bobby Golden should be a fun player to watch in the 2025 season.

Mahamane Moussa - Offensive Line

Louisville football lost some offensive linemen in the portal, including starting tackle Monroe Mills. Moussa was a major get and a good rebound in the portal for the Cardinals. He has been a starter on the O-Line in three seasons at Purdue. Moussa started all 12 games at left tackle for the Boilermakers, where he only allowed two sacks. He recorded 655 snaps overall, with 380 passing snaps. In those snaps, he allowed 25 pressures. Moussa also already has ties to Louisville. He played under coach Brohm when he was coaching at Purdue through the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Moussa will be a powerhouse and key to Louisville football having another explosive offense.

Miller Moss - Quarterback

Miller Moss is ranked No. 3 in quarterbacks and No.10 overall in the transfer portal. Moss is a huge get for the Cardinals due to Tyler Shough going to the NFL. He went 4-5 as a starter at USC last season, with a win against No.13 LSU Tigers. Moss finished the season with 2,555 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He has only played one full season; Moss played in just eight total games in three years before last season, where he played in nine games. Coach Jeff Brohm will look to position Moss for a future in the NFL, like he did with Shough last season.

Watch out for these playmakers in Louisville football's upcoming 2025 season.
