3. The rushing attack has breakout game
To say the running game has fallen short of expectations so far this season is a massive understatement. The tandem of returning stars, sophomores Isaac Brown and Duke Watson, was supposed to have breakout seasons and lead the Louisville offense. Injuries have played a part in preventing this from happening; however, when active, the run game has been a disappointment.
If Louisville wants to keep its ACC title hopes alive, this has to change. Look for Louisville’s run game (with the help of the offensive line) to course correct this week and take some of the pressure off of Miller Moss in the offense. If Louisville’s running game can post 100+ yards on the ground and at least two rushing touchdowns, the Cardinals will be in a great spot come late in the 4th quarter on Friday night.
These are some huge expectations from the previous performances, but if Louisville truly wants to contend, the Cardinals will need the preseason strength of the team to step up and deliver.
