3. Miller Moss
Quarterback Miller Moss has been a roller coaster this season — flashes of brilliance followed by frustrating decisions. He’s thrown four interceptions, including two pick-sixes, and ranks 7th among Power Conference quarterbacks in “turnover-worthy plays,” per PFF. The Virginia loss was a microcosm of his inconsistency: late in the game, instead of taking a sack, Moss tried to make a play with his knee nearly on the turf. The pass was intercepted and returned for a touchdown — a mistake that may have cost them the game.
Still, Moss has shown resilience. The same player who dug a 17–0 hole against Pitt also led Louisville back for one of its most dramatic wins of the season. Against Miami’s defense, which thrives on pressure and opportunism, Moss doesn’t need to be a hero — he needs to be steady. Take the safe throw, protect the football, and trust the system. If he plays within himself, Louisville will have a chance to make this one interesting deep into the fourth quarter.
