3. Sananda Fru, C
This season has been filled with stretches of full confidence in Fru’s presence and ability, followed by multiple games where Fru appears to fade into the background. The last three games for Fru have been the latter, with 7, 8, and 6 point performances on the offensive end. Fru made up for this lack of production on the defensive end with a consistent stronghold around the rim and strong rebound and block totals.
The frontcourt has definitely upped its play since the beginning of the season, when many Cardinals fans grew concerned about whether Fru and others could play with confidence and strength in the post. Fru’s prowess on the defensive end is exactly where it needs to be for a March run.
However, more confidence on the offensive end and better positioning for more scoring opportunities will be key to Louisville’s success, especially when the outside shot fails to fall consistently.
