2. Keyjuan Brown, RB
Most of the general discussion surrounding the Louisville run game focused on returning stars Isaac Brown and Duke Watson. Isaac Brown showed on Saturday that he is the solid RB1 for the Cardinals. However, the second option may have more competition than previously thought. Most fans and media had Keyjuan Brown as a high performer during fall camp, but his play in the first game of the season may have solidified his role in receiving additional touches and further impact for this offense.
Brown posted a solid showing, which included six carries for 25 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown. He also added two catches for 12 yards to go along with this stat line. It is notable that Brown received more touches than Duke Watson and also did not play a single snap in the second half when the second string took over the game.
Maybe the supposed tandem of Isaac Brown and Duke Watson is actually going to be a trio with Keyjuan Brown in the mix? It will be exciting to see how the touch balance between these three talented backs continues to unfold as the season progresses.
