2. Wide Receiver 3

A glaring concern is Louisville football's wide receiver room. Everyone knows how much potential Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy have entered in the 2025 season, but after them, the Cardinals don't have much.

Louisville saw how special Lacy is in the Spring Game as he secured 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. He transferred from southern Alabama last year, but after suffering an injury, he was limited. With Southern Alabama, he secured massive numbers as he was one of the best receivers in the nation in 2023. Lacy earned 91 catches and 1,316 receiving yards, both of which were in the top 10 in the country.

However, after Lacy, there is Bell, who secured a career-high 43 receptions and 737 receiving yards last season, and a significant drop-off. In the Spring Game, Antonio Meeks appeared to be WR3, but Louisville desperately needs a slant or flat receiver to open up these two explosive playmakers.

The Cardinals found out their speedy freshman, JoJo Stone, will transfer, making him the No. 22 player to enter the portal. While Stone only played three snaps last season, he was a 4-star recruit out of high school, according to Rivals. With his impressive speed and the lack of receivers for next year, he had a chance to get some valuable minutes next year.

Louisville needs to go after some elite talent in the transfer portal, and do everything they can to provide some skills on the outside.
