1. Stanquan Clark, LB

The Louisville defense will start and end with their preseason award watchlist linebacker and star, Stanquan Clark. The returning starter had high expectations entering the season, one that has many believing he will be a leader of the defense and a high performer. The first week of play left little to be desired, only posting one tackle. Clark will look to have a bounce-back performance this week and provide the needed pressure and run-stopping ability for the Louisville defense.

The JMU Dukes had an awe-inspiring run performance in Week 1, where they posted a total of 313 rushing yards. Louisville looks to lean on Clark to plug up the middle and assist the defensive line with stopping this highly productive running attack. His leadership and talent will be key to having the performance the Cards need to avoid the upset from JMU. The Week 2 matchup is the perfect opportunity for Clark to justify the preseason hype and cement his place as one of the best linebackers in the ACC.
