The 2025 MVP of the Governor’s Cup put the Louisville Cardinals on his back and led them to a 41-0 victory back in November. Jennings got the start after Isaac Brown, Keyjuan Brown, and Duke Watson all finished the season on the injury list. Jennings made the most of the opportunity, with 20 touches for 113 rushing yards. He was a standout in a blowout loss no one saw coming, one that ultimately got opposing coach Mark Stoops fired.

It would be easy to expect Jennings to build off that momentum by entering the portal for another opportunity, especially after the news of the return of Isaac Brown to remain as the lead back next season. Add in the potential of Keyjuan Brown returning as the No. 2 back, and the running back room is already becoming a pretty crowded area. However, if this past year was any indication, depth is the key to success for top programs. Injuries happen, and a team always needs to be ready in case one (or three) of its best players at a position are injured and cannot play.
