1. Louisville avoids Duke until the ACC Championship game
The major thorn in Louisville’s side this whole season has been the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils, led by the talented freshman Cam Boozer and the electric wing Isaiah Evans. Louisville was unable to put anything resembling a fight together against this incredibly talented team, especially in the second halves of their 2 matchups. The Blue Devils beat the Cardinals in the YUM! Center 84-73 in early January before putting an even bigger beatdown on Louisville 83-52 just a couple of weeks later at Cameron.
Luckily, Louisville avoids this juggernaut until the ACC Championship game since the Cardinals find themselves on the other side of the bracket. Knowing that Louisville won’t have to face this monster until the end should give fans some relief and hope as they aim for a deep tournament run, similar to last season. However, if Louisville does get the championship game, they will have 2 games of film to help them learn from their mistakes and give the Blue Devils an absolute shootout for the conference title. The slates are clean, and anything is possible once the postseason officially begins, something the Cardinals should keep in mind as they face their foes of the past season.
