Brant Byers (Miami OH)

Louisville should definitely look to bring in some of last season’s Miami Redhawks' magic in the form of forward Brant Byers. Byers stepped up on a national stage when the Redhawks faced the SMU Mustangs, posting 19 points and shooting 44% from 3-point land. He was a major contributor (14.2 points per game) on a team that received national attention much of the year for its incredible winning streak.

The major skill set that Byers brings to the mix is his ability to hit the outside shot. Byers shot 39% from behind the arc last season, which could pay major dividends within Pat Kelsey’s system. Sure, there does appear to be a shift in philosophy from how the staff is approaching their recruitments this portal season.

However, the Cardinals will still need players who can make 3-pointers consistently if they want to keep going in March. Byers now ranks No. 101 overall and No. 14 among small forwards.
