1. Offensive flow already in midseason form

What an enjoyable offensive system to watch when everything is running smoothly and according to plan. Kelsey’s offense was poetry in motion all night, with unselfish passing and open opportunities being the main takeaways from the game. Every single player played within the offense, not settling for or turning the possession into one-on-one opportunities. Instead, the ball movement was elite, continually keeping with the offense until the open shot was found. On top of this, the scoring was very even spread out as well, with five players in double digits for the Cardinals.

Being able to run this offense effectively also helps when you have the depth that Louisville showcased in this game. Going about 10 or 11 deep, Kelsey was able to provide key minutes to many different players, showcasing that all have the talent and the ability to be key contributors for the team and play key minutes if needed. The amount of depth was a talking point all offseason about Pat Kelsey’s, and is now being played out in front of our very eyes. If game 1 is any indication, this Cardinals squad will be an entertaining team to watch, and can put points on the scoreboard in an absolute hurry.
