3. The Cardinals must become road warriors
Louisville currently has the fourth-best odds of winning the National Championship and the second-best odds of winning the ACC Title. Well, if the Cardinals want either of these things to happen, they must win some challenging games on the road.
While it would have been nice to have one or two of these at home, it creates massive tests for Kelsey and his Cardinals. Louisville will travel to Duke, SMU, North Carolina, Clemson, and Miami next season, making it clear that Louisville's road games will shape out their 2025-26 season.
All five programs have a legitimate shot at making the NCAA Tournament, and some will have a chance at the ACC Championship. The reason Louisville struck gold with their road games is because these tough games and atmospheres will shape the Cardinals up perfectly for March and April. Louisville will most likely lose a couple of these games, but in reality, those hard-fought losses on the road against elite teams are what shape a team up for a deep postseason run.
Once Louisville plays at Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, and Miami, the Cardinals will have been in some of the most hostile environments of all college basketball. Louisville will then head to the bright lights of March Madness and will be accustomed to all that comes with a Final Four run.
The games on the road are going to make this Louisville basketball team even better and prove why they are a national championship-caliber team.
