3. Louisville’s two preseason All-ACC team members are the real deal

Senior transfer Ryan Conwell made it known against the Kansas Jayhawks that he is one of the most talented guards in the ACC. When the offense seemed to stall or break down mid-possession, Conwell was able to create offense on his own and quickly became the “go and get a bucket” scorer for Pat Kelsey. Conwell finished the game with 26 points and was easily the brightest spot for the Cardinals following the loss to Kansas. Louisville fans can now see why Conwell was named to the preseason first-team All-ACC team, as he looks to be one of the best players in the conference.

Additionally, freshman 5-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. also showed that he is the right guy to be the floor general for Pat Kelsey’s offense. Even though Brown struggled in his first bout of action against the Jayhawks, he countered that performance with an almost flawless outing against the Bucknell Bison. Brown finished the game with 28 points and six assists on a night where the 3-point shooting in particular seemed to come so easily to him. The performance had many in Card Nation buy into Brown’s potential for the season. This NBA prospect will be an absolute weapon for the Cardinals throughout the season.
