3. Keyjuan Brown answers the call

The injury to star running back Isaac Brown has left many Cardinal fans devastated, considering his impact in the last few games. This injury, however, presented another prime opportunity for sophomore Keyjuan Brown to continue demonstrating his value to the Louisville team. Brown answered the call for head coach Jeff Brohm, posting eight rushes for 88 rushing yards in the first half alone. He consistently found the proper running lanes in the defense and hit those zones with increased intensity.

Brown finished the game with 14 rushes for 136 rushing yards. He put any worries that the running game would take a big step back to rest with his performance against Cal. It continues to be more and more apparent that Keyjuan Brown may very well have been the most crucial returning player for Jeff Brohm this past offseason. His ability to stay healthy and perform at a high level when required makes him a crucial piece to Louisville's success thus far this season.
