4. Louisville sees familiar faces in East region

These are both long shots, but if the right upsets occur, they could be matchups that Louisville faces in this tournament. Starting in the Sweet Sixteen, say UCLA finds its way pulling off the upset over UConn, Louisville could be facing the likes of former assistant coach Mick Cronin and former Card Skyy Clark. This could be a hostile matchup for both, as Mick Cronin has been linked to the Louisville coaching job multiple times, and Skyy Clark did not have the best experience with Kenny Payne at the helm.

Then, take a potential Elite Eight matchup against former head coach Rick Pitino and St. John’s. Talk about a major spike in TV ratings. Rick Pitino had one of the most controversial exits from a college program after a string of widely covered scandals led to his ultimate demise as the Louisville head coach.

This would be a massive game for both Pitino and Cards fans in a battle not only for pride, but for a trip to the Final Four.
