3. Matchup weakness present in multiple potential matchups

All season, Louisville has failed to match up well against teams that present physicality, length, and strength on the interior. It’s only fitting that the Cardinals' path includes 3 incredibly talented teams that present that very challenge. It will be an uphill battle, and the tests the Cardinals have failed to pass time and time again throughout the season.

Michigan St., UConn, and Duke will all be waiting in the subsequent rounds (pending major upsets) to take on Louisville in the East Region. Louisville’s interior will have its work cut out for it, as all of these teams feature elite frontcourt weapons capable of taking over a game.

The frontcourt has been a weakness for the Cardinals throughout the season. They now have to overcome their shortcomings and put together their best stretch of performances of the season.
