5. Caullin Lacy must be used more
After a quiet Week 2 performance against the JMU Dukes, senior wide receiver Caullin Lacy provided a breakout performance for both the offense and special teams groups on Saturday. This definitely was not the case, as Lacy muffed his first punt return, leading to a turnover and eventual field goal for the Falcons early in the 1st quarter. Card Nation quickly forgave Lacy as he returned the next punt a whopping 75 yards for his second punt return touchdown of the season. Lacy also added 96 receiving yards on 8 catches, averaging 12.0 yards per reception.
Lacy reminded Cardinals fans of just what he can do when the ball is put in his hands. He’s a dynamic, flashy playmaker, especially in the open field. Lacy can make defenders look silly, with countless moves and jukes in his arsenal to pull out at the exact correct times. His presence helped senior QB Miller Moss settle into a groove with the Louisville offense and gave Moss an added boost of confidence after the shaky Week 2 performance.
