5. Fast start by the Cardinals set the tone early
Coach Brohm did not waste any time getting Louisville on the board. After Louisville received the opening kickoff, Miller Moss led an aggressive drive for an instant 7-0 start for the Cardinals. However, that drive was no typical drive as Brohm used three quarterbacks, ran a fake field goal, and then Moss rushed for a touchdown.
After a quick three-and-out by Miami, Louisville went into the end zone once again for a fast 14-0 lead. Here, Chris Bell found the endzone for the first time, showing off his speed and breaking the internet with how explosive he is. The scores were two quick punches to Miami’s face, and had them on their heels early.
Brohm and the Louisville offense did not waste time showing the Hurricanes that they were there to compete. Although Miami found its groove and got back into the game, the two early scores were significant for two reasons. For one, it showed that Louisville in this game was incredibly gettable and that they could compete with the almighty Hurricanes. It also kept the Miami defense on its heels for most of the night, with the offense able to excel in various looks and formations.
