Adrian Wooley officially committed to Louisville basketball, making the Cardinals land their No. 1 target yesterday. Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals found out late afternoon, around 6 p.m. local time, that the No. 3 overall player in the transfer portal will take his talents to the University of Louisville.

Louisville landed this massive commitment over Wooley's home state, the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tide were the favorites early on in the recruiting process and were expected to land this highly recruited shooting guard. Still, Kelsey worked magic and landed Wooley over Alabama, Auburn, and Kansas.

Alabama is ranked No. 9 in the nation for their recruiting class 2025, so it was a huge land for Kelsey and his Cardinals. It is clear that Louisville basketball is back, and landing Wooley makes that clear as day.

Louisville Nation is celebrating this April Fools' Day as the Cardinals' offseason is off to a hot start. The Cardinals' landing of Wooley over Alabama shows that they are here to stay and will compete with the SEC giants on and off the court.

So, here are five key reasons Adrian Wooley boldly committed to the Louisville Cardinals over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

5. Splash Brothers 2.0

The Cardinals were the clear option for Wooley, as the combo guard will be lethal from beyond the arc in this Pat Kelsey-style offense. Louisville will look to have an explosive offense, as Mikel Brown Jr. and Wooley will try to be the collegiate version of the Splash Brothers.

The Cardinals' two guards are lethal from beyond the arc. Wooley shot the ball 42 percent last season and made 73 3-pointers throughout the 2024-25 season. The Kennesaw State transfer made a little above two 3-pointers per game last season and will look to skyrocket that number alongside Brown.

Brown just won the McDonald's All-American Game 3-point contest last night as he caught fire, made 19 of the 25 shots, and set a new record with 28 points in the contest. According to MaxPreps, Brown shot above 60 percent from the field and the 3-point line for DME Academy. This 5-star recruit out of DME Academy averaged 29 points and is ranked as the nation's No. 1 best point guard.

Brown and Wooley are poised to be a lethal dynamic duo on the offensive side of the court and lead this Cardinals team to a deep March run.
