3. Reyne Smith

Reyne Smith is one of Louisville basketball's favorites from this past season. In his one season with Louisville, Smith secured his name in multiple record books. The Cardinals guard came over from Charleston with Pat Kelsey, a vocal leader, to help this team gel together and learn Kelsey's style of play quickly.

Smith splashed 107 threes this season, the second most in program history, and averaged 3.5 threes per game. The lethal shooter finished the season averaging 13.4 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 38.3 percent from downtown.

Smith would also break the Cardinals record for most threes in a single game. He drained 10 threes in Louisville's win over SMU and finished the game with 30 points while shooting 58 percent from three-point territory.

While Smith is a vocal leader, team leader, and experienced senior, he got hit by the flu and injury bug to end this season, which impacted his play. He would end the season shooting nearly 30 percent from the three-point line in his final 10 games. Smith made just 25 of his final 81 three-point tries in his collegiate career, but it all started when the flu hit the Cardinals locker room.

Finally, after he beat the illness, he suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of playing in the ACC Tournament, and then he reinjured the ankle in their loss against Creighton and never returned.

The Cardinal's lethal shooter was more than just a catch-and-shoot player. He was crucial to this offense to space out the floor and let their All-ACC guards go to work. His ability to find the open space on the court and knock down threes was vital for the offense's success.
